From its lofty perch high above Jimbaran Bay on the Bukit Peninsula, this villa commands breathtaking views. The stunning panorama of Bali’s sacred mountains shimmering on the distant horizon unfurls before your eyes as you cross the blue-pebbled pond and enter the villa’s main living room.
A wall of 3-metre-high sliding glass doors opens from the living room onto a veranda which, in turn, steps down to a lawn of velvet-soft Japanese grass and an 18 x 5m infinity edge pool. Further exploration reveals a formal reading room and library, a second living room with large TV and Bose home entertainment system, a huge upper-floor terrace for private sunbathing, sunset cocktails and alfresco dining, and another terrace commandeered by a large four-seat jacuzzi with a killer view. And then there are the four bedroom suites with beds big enough to get lost in and (very convenient for young families) an extra single bed in every room.
Everything’s oversized here: towering windows, a four-metre dining table formed from a single Teakwood slab, stately bathtubs and enough comfy sofas, daybeds and beanbags scattered around to encourage serious sprawling in every corner. With so many large living spaces, this villa encourages social interaction while at the same time offering many cosy corners for those who want to slip away from the crowd.
Families are sure to love the villa. Kids get to hang out in their own playroom with toys, TV, Xbox, Wii and mini-kitchen for between-meal snacks; mum can retreat to the massage room for some spa therapy and dad can retire to the very grown-up library or watch the Telkomvision sports channel. A swimming pool fence can also be ordered at additional cost.
The smartly uniformed staff anticipate every whim, be it a cup of Segafredo coffee or a glass of chilled Sauvignon Blanc from the wine fridge. The chef is passionate about high-quality home-cooked food using only the finest ingredients, and offers a tempting suggestion menu (provisions on guest account).
What could be nicer at the end of the day than enjoying a glass or two of that chilled white wine while watching the sky blaze pink and orange with the setting sun, as the lights of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak sparkle from across the bay.
