Villa Rom Trai sits 40 metres above the sea in the Samsara Estate, looking over Nakalay Bay towards Patong. It follows the slope of the hill, with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors on every level and a private lift between floors, and the 12-metre infinity pool is on the top level where the view is widest. The style is soft and Asian-inspired, with high ceilings and open spaces.
All five bedrooms face the ocean. The master has a private terrace with an outdoor whirlpool tub and its own bathroom, the second guest room also has a private terrace and ensuite, bedrooms three and four share a terrace and a bathroom, which works well for children, and the fifth room has a queen and a single bed. A steam room and sauna, a library and a family room are inside, and the kitchen is a fully equipped American style. Two villa staff including a private chef are included, plus the estate team and the daily shuttle to Kamala or Patong beach. Bookable as 3, 4 or 5 bedrooms.
