About Bangtao/Surin
This area sits on the border between Bang Tao in the north and Surin in the south, separated by a headland. Between the main road and the beach is a Muslim village mixed in with villas and small hotels, with little shops and cafes lining the road all the way down to Surin, about a 15-minute walk away.
Surin itself has changed a lot recently: after repeated clearances of its beachfront bars and vendors, most recently in May 2025, it's now a quiet, mostly open stretch of sand with just one restaurant, Tukta, still trading on the rocks at its edge. The nearest full beach-club scene today is back up in Bang Tao itself.

What is the Bangtao/Surin border area like?
A quieter, more local stretch than either full beach, with a Muslim village and small shops along the road. Bang Tao's amenities (Boat Avenue, Porto de Phuket) are a short drive north, and Surin beach, now largely cleared of its old beach clubs, is a 15-minute walk south.
