About Cape Yamu
Cape Yamu is a quiet peninsula on Phuket's east coast, looking out over the limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay. It is in Pa Khlok, in Thalang district, and it is a private, low-key residential corner of the island rather than a tourist strip. COMO Point Yamu is its best-known address, and the Yamu pier, around 5 mins away, is the starting point for boat trips into the bay.
The seclusion comes with distance, so plan on driving. There is no school on the cape, we could not confirm any shop, pharmacy or clinic there, and we found no public swimming beach on the cape: the nearest are on the west coast, around 20-35 mins away. The road out joins Route 4027 at Pa Khlok. Royal Phuket Marina and Boat Lagoon are around 20 mins away, BISP and Finnway around 20 mins, and most other international schools around 25-40 mins. The four main hospitals in Phuket Town are around 20-35 mins away, and the airport is around 30-40 mins away depending on traffic.
